About KJ

K.J. Wright’s road to the NFL started in Olive Branch, Mississippi where he was a standout at Olive Branch High School as a 3-sport star in football, basketball, and track. His success on the football field caught the attention of many of the top college programs like Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Mississippi State. K.J. decided to become a Bulldog where he put together an incredible four years career and was eventually named a team captain for his play. After his freshman year, he started 35 out of a possible 37 games and tallied a total of 258 tackles and 10 sacks during his college career. These impressive numbers led K.J. to be drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks.

Since coming into the league, K.J. has remained a vital component of Seattle’s feared defense and one of the top Linebackers in the league. During his first four seasons with Seattle, he has already amassed 350 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 1 interception, and played in 60 out of a possible 64 games. He continues to be a vital component of the Seahawk’s defense that surrendered the fewest points allowed in the entire NFL during the 2012-2014 seasons, lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl XLVIII victory, and an appearance in Super Bowl XLIX. Due to his hard work on the field and his leadership both on and off of it, Seattle rewarded K.J. with a four-year contract extension in late 2014.

I know Seahawks fans are very excited to see #50 in the Seahawks colors for the next four years!
